Black and White

It was my good friend’s birthday the other week and it has been a long time since I made anything for him. I would love to have him wear something new of mine as he wears it with such pride and it is so humourous when people go up to him to ask about the garments and he just points to me and say, ‘Ask him! He made it!’

The challenge, however, was to make something in an evening. I have not only been busy with work lately but feeling under the weather for a while, so all my free time has been spent recuperating. However, I am much better now so on a quiet Friday evening, I went through my stash of fabric and made a black and white T-shirt with my trademark shoulder zip.

With the shortage of time (I’m meeting him today to pass him the present) I decided to cheat and overlock the edges. I would have prefer to French seam it but this process doubles the construction time.

In just under 3 hours, the T-shirt was made and I actually like it so much I would have kept it for myself! Naughty!
